EV Quotes – Terms & Conditions

Welcome to EV Quotes (“EV Quotes”, “we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website located at EVQuotes.ca (the “Site”) and any services, features, or content offered through it (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using EV Quotes, creating an account, submitting a quote request, or registering as a contractor, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our Services.

1. Role of EV Quotes

EV Quotes is an online marketplace that connects EV Owners with independent electrical contractors (“Contractors”) for EV charger installation and related services.

  • We do not provide electrical services and are not a licensed electrical contractor.
  • We are not a party to any contract, agreement, or transaction between EV Owners and Contractors.
  • We do not supervise, direct, control, or guarantee the quality, timing, legality, or outcome of any work performed by Contractors.

Any agreements or disputes between EV Owners and Contractors are solely between those parties.

2. Eligibility

To use our Services, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have the legal capacity to enter binding agreements

By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

3. Accounts & Registration

3.1 EV Owners

EV Owners must create a free EV Quotes account in order to receive and respond to quotes. When registering, you agree to provide accurate and complete information, including:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Address or installation location

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details.

3.2 Contractors

Contractors must create an account and provide accurate information, including:

  • Business name & contact details
  • Licensing & certification details
  • Service areas
  • Descriptions of offered services

Contractors are responsible for keeping all information accurate and up to date.

4. Contractors – Responsibilities & Compliance

By joining EV Quotes as a Contractor, you agree that:

  • You possess all required licenses, insurance, and qualifications to perform advertised services.
  • You will comply with all provincial, federal, and safety regulations.
  • You are solely responsible for the quality and legality of your work.
  • You will communicate professionally with EV Owners.
  • You will not misrepresent your skills, qualifications, or pricing.

EV Quotes may, but is not obligated to, verify Contractor information and makes no guarantee of its accuracy.

5. EV Owners – Responsibilities

As an EV Owner using EV Quotes, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete project details
  • Communicate respectfully and honestly with Contractors
  • Conduct your own due diligence before hiring a Contractor

EV Quotes is not responsible for Contractor selection or the outcome of any project.

6. Quotes, Jobs & Payments

6.1 Quotes

  • EV Owners may receive quotes from one or more Contractors.
  • Quotes, timelines, and pricing are provided directly by Contractors.
  • EV Quotes does not guarantee the accuracy of any quote information.

6.2 Agreements Between EV Owners & Contractors

All agreements—written or verbal—between EV Owners and Contractors are strictly between those parties. EV Quotes is not involved in contract formation, payment collection, or dispute resolution.

6.3 Payments Between EV Owners & Contractors

Payments for electrical work are handled directly between the EV Owner and Contractor.

  • EV Quotes does not process or guarantee payments.
  • We are not responsible for refunds, disputes, or chargebacks.

6.4 Contractor Membership Fees

  • Contractors may pay Membership Fees to access the platform.
  • Fees may include annual plans, recurring subscriptions, or promotional offers.
  • Recurring memberships renew automatically unless cancelled.
  • By enrolling, Contractors authorize EV Quotes or its processor to charge their payment method.

7. Refund & Cancellation Policy (Contractors)

Refund and cancellation terms for Contractors are as follows:

  • Membership Fees are generally non-refundable once the billing cycle begins.
  • Contractors may cancel future renewals at any time through their account or by contacting us.
  • Cancelled accounts remain active until the end of the paid billing period.
  • Founders Deals, discounted plans, and promotional rates are final once purchased.
  • If a plan includes a specific refund guarantee, that guarantee overrides this section only for the stated period.

EV Quotes does not guarantee any minimum number of quote requests or specific job volume.

8. Reviews & User Content

Users may submit reviews, photos, or other content (“User Content”). By submitting content, you:

  • Grant EV Quotes a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use and display the content.
  • Confirm your content is truthful and lawful.
  • Agree not to post fraudulent, abusive, defamatory, or misleading material.

9. SMS, Email & Notifications

By providing your contact information, you consent to receiving:

  • Service-related emails
  • SMS updates for quote requests and account activity
  • Important notifications such as installer acceptances or messages

You may opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP. Some transactional messages may still be required for account operation.

10. Acceptable Use

  • You may not use the platform for unlawful purposes.
  • You may not scrape or harvest data.
  • You may not impersonate other users.
  • You may not upload harmful code or disrupt our Services.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on EV Quotes is protected by copyright and cannot be copied, distributed, or modified without permission.

12. Third-Party Services

EV Quotes may contain links to third-party tools or sites. We are not responsible for their content, privacy policies, or practices.

13. Disclaimers

The platform is provided “as is” and “as available.”

We do not guarantee:

  • Any specific number of quotes
  • Any job outcomes or revenue
  • The quality or legality of Contractor work
  • Error-free or uninterrupted services

14. Limitation of Liability

EV Quotes is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including:

  • Loss of revenue
  • Loss of data
  • Damage to property
  • Contractor actions or omissions

Our total liability shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount paid to EV Quotes in the past 3 months, or (b) CAD $100.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify EV Quotes from any claims arising out of your use of the platform or interactions with other users.

16. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms or for fraudulent or abusive activity.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and Canada.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
